During this time he has become one of the leading figures in the jam band and Grateful Dead-inspired community, expressing his flavor of music through a variety of projects. He has fronted a number of Dead tribute acts, including a tour with the nationally touring Dark Star Orchestra. This path has culminated in the formation of his current project, Stu Allen and Mars Hotel, which was birthed hosting the weekly Grateful Dead Night at Ashkenaz in Berkeley, and now plays around the Northern California area. Stu regularly plays with Phil Lesh and Friends on tour and at the Grateful Dead bassist's Terrapin Crossroads. Stu also is a founding member of Phil's new band Communion. You can also see Stu in Bay Area favorites The Rock Collection

TRAVIS JONES; Lead Vocals, Background Vocals, Acoustic and Electric guitars

Travis’ musical background and history reads like a William Faulkner novel. He began singing gospel music at age four with his mother Lottie Mae Adams, a blues singer who recorded several discs on Paula Records. Travis became known not only for his vocal abilities but also for his telling of old testament bible stories at revivals and tent meetings all across the south. He started his first group at sixteen – a Paul Revere and the Raiders tribute band. Travis served 6 years in the US Army; he was stationed in Europe where he performed with the soul and funk band Smoke, which eventually became the back up band for the famous R&B group The Manhattans (“Let’s Just Kiss and Say Goodbye”) during their 1978 European tour. Upon leaving the armed forces, Europe, and Smoke, Travis made his way to Sonora California. There, he started several groups -among them, Yukon, Too Close for Comfort, The Sonora All Star Rock Rhythm and Blues Revue and Travis Jones and the New Frontier. He has also spent considerable time in live theater productions - most notably, Lost Highway- the Legend and Music of Hank Williams, where he played the part of Hank Williams and was Musical Director. Jesus Christ Superstar, Vocal Director and played the part of Jesus. Pump Boys and Dinettes, 3 Penny Opera, The Miss Firecracker Contest, Smoke on the Mountain, and The Grapes of Wrath where he composed an original musical score.

During his time in California, he has performed with a wide array of artists. He’s shared the stage with Asleep at the Wheel and Waylon Jennings – Night Ranger and the Doobie Brothers - John Hartford and Levon Helm, just to name a few. Travis has been the opening act (with Houston Jones) for Rodney Crowell, Michael Martin Murphy, Maria Muldaur, The Infamous Stringdusters and The Green Cards. He has recorded with various artists, as well as releasing two self titled albums – “Lost Highway, The Legendary Music of Hank Williams” and “Dance All Night” – along with seven CD releases with Houston Jones.

SEAN ALLEN:
Lead Guitar, Steel Guitar, Vocals

A consummate instrumentalist, Sean's playing is spectacular and dazzling! A graduate of the Berklee School of Music, his skills are much in demand by artists ranging from Commander Cody to Carlene Carter among others. The Jones Gang is excited to have Sean perform with us when he's available. For a taste of his playing, check out his youtube video with Commander Cody featuring Bill Kirchen and Bobby Black!

This very special show highlights the return of one of the Bay Area's most
beloved singer/songwriters, Lauren Murphy. Murphy recently relocated to
Lower Alabama, after releasing her latest record, "El Dorado", dedicated
in loving memory to her late husband , Judge Murphy (ZERO/Lansdale
Station). Joined by El Dorado County's fabulous fiddler, Lisa Bond,

Vinyl of "El Dorado" & T-shirts, will be available at this intimate show.

"El Dorado" has received rave National Reviews as well as local, and it
can be heard on radio stations from California, throughout the South East,
and in Europe.

The Pairing of Lisa (Double Bow 7) & Lauren, makes for one high energy
experience you do not want to miss.

"Lady Willpower" ~ Relix Magazine

"El Dorado" hits in places that everyone who ever draws breath is likely
to feel: maybe as a sudden flush of the cheeks, as a tightening of the
muscles that control laughter or tears, or maybe in the pit of the
stomach. Emotional honesty, the real deal " ~ No Depression

Scott Law & Ross James first met on the bandstand at Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael. From the first note they played together, there was an obvious connection. They both share a love for the classic sounds of Bluegrass and early Rock ’n Roll along with an open mind and ear for psychedelic sonic exploration. On any given night you will hear the influences of Bill Monroe, Chuck Berry, The Grateful Dead, or the Velvet Underground running through the Cosmic Twang
