THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING LOCAL LIVE MUSIC

AND YOUR LOCAL FOODSHED!

This special concert brings together three members of the honky tonk revisionist band, Crying Time and pedal steel master Bobby Black. In addition to country and western swing, all four of these musicians frequently foray into the jazz songbook. They'll be performing an array of songs from both genres.

Bobby Black is the living legend of West Coast pedal steel guitar. Born in 1934, Bobby's long career spans classic country (Hank Williams, Jim Reeves) through country-rock (Commander Cody, New Riders of the Purple Sage) and the Western Swing revival (Asleep at the Wheel, Lost Weekend).

Jill Rogers (Crying Time, Imperial Jazz Co.) is a singer’s singer with superb phrasing and torch ballad pipes, who tells the heartfelt story of each song she approaches.

Guitarist Myles Boisen, a key player in the Bay Area music scene, is a virtuoso of juke joint licks on the six string and lap steel as well as leader of the Miniwatt String Trio and Orchestra Nostalgico.

Multi-instrumentalist and singer Tony Marcus has long been a mainstay of the San Francisco Bay Area acoustic music scene, playing everything from folk music to the jazz in bands including Leftover Dreams, Cats & Jammers. Tony has also been a member of the Cheap Suit Serenaders since 1979, and performed and recorded with Laurie Lewis, Kate Brislin, Geoff Muldaur, Kate Wolf, Frank Wakefield, The Sons of the San Joaquin, Rose Maddox, Patsy Montana, Lost Weekend Western Swing Band and many others.
